Subaortic stenosis (SAS) and pulmonic stenosis in a 11 year old MN German Shepherd dog

An 11-month-old MN German Shepherd dog was presented for evaluation of a grade IV/VI heart murmur. Systemic BP was elevated (175/120). On survey radiographs cardiomegaly in the region of the right ventricle/pulmonary artery and mild left atrial enlargement was evident.

Myxomatous stage B1 mitral valve disease with moderate mitral regurgitation in a 10 year old FS Yorkshire Terrier dog

A 10-year-old FS Yorkshire terrier was presented for evaluation of a grade III/VI heart murmur. Lungs were normal, heart rate was 136bpm, respiratory rate was 36 bpm, and BP was normal (159/86).

Myxomatous stage B1 mitral valve disease with systemic hypertension in a 11 year old MN Golden Retriever dog

An 11-year-old MN Golden Retriever dog was presented for evaluation of tachypnea and a grade II/VI murmur. Systolic blood pressure indicated hypertension (255/105). There was no evidence of abdominal neoplasia, renal disease, or Cushing’s disease on abdominal ultrasound examination.

Stage B2 valvular disease with mitral valve prolapse, left atrial enlargement and pulmonary hypertension in a 10 year old MN Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

This  10-year-old MN King Charles Cavalier dog was presented for evaluation of heart disease – chronic valvular disease with a grade IV/VI systolic murmur in the mitral region and current medication being furosemide, enalapril and pimobendan. 

Valvular Disease & Pulmonary Hypertension

An 8-year-old F Maltese was presented for examination.  A grade 5/6 systolic heart murmur was noted. Radiographs revealed severe generalized cardiomegaly and an unremarkable pulmonary parenchyma. Moderate hepatomegaly and ascites was additionally noted.

Mitral and tricuspid insufiicency stage C1 valvular disease, shortened IVRT, and left sided heart failure with pulmonary hypertension in an 8 year old female Maltese dog
