RAD – Chronic/intermittent bronchitis with tracheitis in a 14 year old FS Dachshund dog

This 14 year old FS Dachshund dog had an episode at home of gagging, inability to stand and uncoordination. Had been advisedby rDVM that she has a “hind and spinal issue”. Inappropriate  urination.  CBC:Eos low, platelets low Chem: BUN high 31, Glob slightluy low 2.4   

RADS – Bronchitis in a 3 year old MN Shiba Inu dog

History of 3 recent episodes of hairball-type cough/wheeze/gag. Physical exam showed all WNL; no coughing episodes during the exam or during the stress of radiographs. CBC and chemistry panel pending at this time.

Abnormalities on physical examination were prostamegaly and perianal swelling. Premature ventricular contractions were evident on electrocardiogram. Bloodwork was with normal limits. 

Mitral insufficiency in a 4 year old MN Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

A 4-year-old MN Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog with history of a grade IV/VI heart murmur was presented for intermittent, but persistent coughing and gagging. On physical examination enlarged submandibular lymph nodes were present. Abnormalities on CBC and blood chemistry included anemia, thrombocytosis, and increased BUN.

Lymphoma diagnosed by Tru-cut biopsy of mesenteric lymph nodes in a pruritic 2 year old Labrador Retriever
