Cholangitis in a cat

  • 9 year old MN DSH with vomiting after which he has collapsed 3 times, mildly elevated liver enzymes, good BCS
  • Cardiac exam normal
  • Hyperechoic gallbladder wall with what I think is mineralisation within biliary ducts, worse on right side of liver
  • Also thickened submucosal stomach layer, pancreatic changes and lymphadenopathy at ICCJ
  • So I suspect triaditis
  • Are my liver interpretations correct and is it possible to tell if acute/chronic, neutrophilic/LP?

Cool images! I don’t remember

Cool images! I don’t remember to see anything like that in the liver. I would interpret it as hyperechoic nodules, but I am no EL :). Did you consider FNA the liver?

EL

These nodules seem outside of

These nodules seem outside of th ebiliary ducts and are consistent with lipogranulomas. Triad disease sure makes sense. Fna of the liver to assess inflammatory cell type would make sense.
