The patient was presented for vomiting 3-4 days prior. Was recently gagging, not urinating often despite normal drinking. The patient had a decreased appetite or was not eating at all and having innappropriate defecation in the house. Blood chemistry showed liver enzyme elevation and low BUN. Bile Acids test results were high at 464.6 umol/L….

A 7-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog (BMD) was presented for a history of persistent weight loss. The only abnormality on physical examination was a thin body condition. CBC and blood chemistry showed monocytosis, elevated creatinine, hypercalcemia, and mild hyperamylasemia. The patient was presented due to persistent vomiting for 3 weeks. Physical examination found the patient 5% dehydrtated. Blood chemistry found a high BUN of 94 and high creatinine of 3.2. USG was 1.032 (in the face of 5% dehydration).

A 5-year-old male German shepherd was presented for evaluation of progressive pain, lethargy, anorexia, and hunched back following an episode of abdominal trauma – tried to jump over a large hole and hit his abdomen on the edge of the hole.

A 6-year-old MN Cavalier King Charles Spanial was referred for mitral valve repair because of severe DMVD. At that time he was already on Pimobendan, Furosemide (12 mg/kg/d) and ACEI. He presented with increased respiratory effort and mild pulmonary edema.

January 21, 2015

An 11-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was presented for poor appetite and diarrhea. CBC revealed anemia and a hematocrit of 33. Blood chemistry revealed a low total protein of 3.4, albumin of 1.4, and ALKP of 487.

December 28, 2014

A 3-year-old male Labrador Retriever dog was presented for anorexia and weight loss. CBC was within normal limits, however blood chemistry showed hyperproteinemia, hypoalbuminemia, low albumin/globulin ratio, marked azotemia, hyperphosphatemia, mild hypocalcemia, hyperkalemia, and hyperamylasemia. T4 was within normal range. The urine had a cloudy appearance; 3+ proteinuria and 3+ hematuria were present on urinalysis.

 12-year-old MN Labrador mixed breed was presented for evaluation of anorexia, vomiting, and lethargy. Abnormalities on CBC and serum biochemistry were severe leukocytosis,neutrophilia, hemococentration, and elevated ALP (600).
