Cardiac table specs

Hello everyone,

Just wondering whether scanners out there are using commercially-built cardiac tables, or whether you make your own. I am looking at building one and am prepped with the vinyl/padding, etc. but not too sure how big to make the main hole and the semi-circle cut out. Can anyone give me some recommendations to start? (Will be scanning cats and dogs mainly).

Thanks

Jennifer

Many sonographers don’t even

Many sonographers don’t even use a scanning table. Check out EL videos. I have a table and I like it when I take the effort to

set it up. It seems to me that many of the images I see without the table tend to have tipped images. This is not necessarily bad if you can get the M mode lined up perpendicular.

That being said, I am posting below the web address for the guy that made my table. He was easy to work with and service was great. The table is comfortable but is made out of wood and therefore a bit heavy. Mobil- but with a little effort. I hope this helps. I am certain there are other tables out there. I don’t remember the price I paid, but I think it was reasonable.

Electrocute

I have one that I don’t use,

I have one that I don’t use, but it is heavy and would probably be expensive to ship.  What area do you live in?

The tipsd images occur if too
The tipsd images occur if too far caudal moving cranial a rib space or slight probe twist resolves this. I grew up using a table in the old school and gave it up once I went mobile. When I try to scan with it now it just gets in the way. I’ve shown you can readily get every possible view without the table and even much faster. If you are married to the table, and nothing wrong with that especially if in a fixed practice because lugging a cardiac table will wear and tear your back in mobile operations, Dr Doug Casey has a contact that makes nice ones and Tomie Timon designed a mesh+PVC one that’s lightweight and cool maybe they can chime in…love the app to post

I had David Mayne make one
I had David Mayne make one from Mayne woodworking as above.Awesome table and works great as a comfortable table when I’m in facilities that only have a dental table with a grate to scan on. Patient comfort comes first. I use Tomie’s home made table for all my cats and small dogs 10 lbs or less. FYI the critical care people use a rolled up towel under scapula to get a nice window and use the towel under the sternum in dyspnic cats for good windows

Thats right forgot about the

Thats right forgot about the towel thing… just have to be sure to tilt up just a touch and not too much in order to keep the heart sternal and not float it dorsally that will squeeze your window.
