Calcifications in the prostate of a 11 yo intact Border Collie.
– Wellness scan, heterogeneous but symmetrical prostate with hyperechoic areas, one anechoic cyst/abscess and 2 calcifications with acoustic shadowing. They almost look like stones, but the prostatic urethra looked fine.
– Normal lymph nodes, kidneys/bladder, and all other organs WNL.
– The dog has no urinary issues at all. Could it still be chronic prostatitis and BPH? I am concerned about neoplasia because of the calcifications.

Usually a simple enlargement
Usually a simple enlargement of the prostate is BPH, but calcifications are typically more concerning for a carcinoma. Of course in either case you won’t know for sure without an FNA and pathology review. Let’s see what our veterinary specialists think about your images.

Most likely prostatic liths, which are incidental findings but need to exclude chronic prostatitis and neoplasia.
As you state FNA or postatuc wash for cytology is needed.
