Advice on new machine

My machine just died and I need to replace it.  Unfortunately, it died well before it should have and I did not anticipate having to get a new machine so soon.  (It was an unusual machine, a Fuji Fazone, but has very nice images).  So, my budget is more limited than I would like.

My dream machine is the MyLab Alpha but I have never seen one on the used market and new is not likely in the cards at this time.  I can get a refurbished MyLab 30, MyLab 30 Gold, or MyLab 5.  I have used a MyLab 40 but it has been awhile so I would like some experience from you on things I should consider.  I also have a quote for a P300, which I am not familar with.

I do abdomen and cardiac.  My previous machine was extremely limited in the post-processing capabilities for cardiac so I am looking forward to more functionality in that regard.  I will also want a good linear probe.

I have tried GE machines before and would rather not get one.  I love their cardiac function but I have never been a big fan of the abdominal images.  I am mobile so it must be portable.

Advice on machines to consider, companies to look at or stay away from, machines for sale, etc?  I have a loaner machine now but I will need to purchase soon.

Alternatively, I was quoted $19,000 for the part, not including labor, to repair mine.  Does anyone know of somewhere that can do repair?  Thanks!

Suzanne
