A 6-year-old NM Boxer was presented for evaluation of collapse. There had been a previous history of endocarditis 2 years prior, that had improved on antibiotic therapy. The only abnormality on physical examination was a heart murmur.

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

End stage subaortic stenosis, secondary AI and myocardial insufficiency. Potential concurrent boxer cardiomyopathy.

Image Interpretation

High LVOT, mitral insufficiency. Aortic insufficiency. Fractional shortening 18%.

DX

End stage subaortic stenosis, secondary AI and myocardial insufficiency. Potential concurrent boxer cardiomyopathy.
