Recommendations for EKG clips

The alligator clips that came with my Alpha are painful as they grip tightly.  I thought I remembered there being some kind of needle adapters out there, at least for cats?  Just wondering what people are using for attaching the EKG leads without causing the patient undue discomfort and interfering with patient cooperation?
