Thin hyperechoic rim in the edge/ margin of the renal cortex (not rim sign)

Hi everyone,

I am looking for differentials on a hyperechoic rim (small striations all along) the edge/margin of the renal cortex  (clarifying is not the rim sign as is not in the cortico-medullary junction), unfortunately my images are too dark and does not represent the change but imagine like a rim sign but in the edge of the cortex (periphery) the rest of the cortex looks ok. It seems to be an incidental finding as the main concern on this patient was liver. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

what i think you are talking

what i think you are talking about is that puffy mid cortical band… I see this in bdiabetics… i.e. diabetic nephropathy… but I have never bx it before to know exactly but imagine that case is fomr glucose driev on the Glomeruli… anything in the urine?? protein casts sediment..??

if you can post process on your machine and increase gain and tgc its a dirty way to brighten your images after the fact:)
