What sedation protocol do you recommend if needed for a shunt hunt in a 4 month old female/spayed pointer mix? She is 13 lbs. She presented disoriented, walking in to walls. ALT 88 (9-75), GGT 3 (0-2), CL 120 (105-119), HCT 33 (37-61)
Bile acids – pre 93, post 303
Her clinical signs have improved. She is being treated with metronidazole, lactulose, keppra and is on the L/D diet.

One response to “sedation for a shunt hunt”
I’ve always used propfol if
I’ve always used propfol if really needed but I’ve trained myself to mentally ignore the wiggling so rarely ever have to sedate any more:)
