Neck ultrasound

Sonopath Forum

Older adult dog with vague history of weight loss.

The vet requesting the u/s thought he saw a possible mass around the cranial trachea on rads.  I wasn’t convinced but figured I’d check the neck, cranial mediastinum and abdomen.

There is a small nodule to the left lateral side of the mid-trachea. Can you help identify what it is?  I haven’t done a lot of neck ultrasounds.  I’ve got stills and videos of it in transverse and sagittal views.  It was not particularly vascular.

Thanks!

Cystic mass in the region of

Cystic mass in the region of the thryoid. May be a complete incidental fiinding (in light of the presenting clinical signs) but would consider running thryroid panel and doing an FNA.
