This is a 1 1/2 yr old cat living in one of our shelters. Just ADR starting 9 days ago. Exam unremarkable. blood work chem wnl ,felv/fiv neg, cbc inc eos /mono. did logical empirical therapy dewormed,clindamycin. Did not improve eating very little. abdominal scan was unremarkable with the exception of the kidneys. I wanted opinions on them. thanks

Not sure I see pathology here.
The images are a bit grainy and dark on my end.
I don’t see any pyelectasia and the increased density in the renal pelvis looks like fat.
Looks like good differentiation betwee the cortex and medulla.
I guess we will see what others have to say.

Medulalry rim sign which can be idiopathic and innocuous or also FIP so if inflammatory sediment in the urine I would consider a renal fna looking for granulomatous inflammation or better yet renal bx if you have nothing else to go on.

Due to age and history I was chasing FIP info. Usually with fip and medullary rim I have a sicker cat , maybe early in the game? cat improving with some fluid therapy. will get the urine sample. thanks
