Mesenchymal tumor or sarcoma in an 11 year old FS Labrador Retriever dog
Sonographic Differential Diagnosis
Abdominal mass, likely deriving from the intestinal wall, non-resectable.
Image Interpretation
The abdomen in this patient presented an enormous small intestinal wall mass. This occupied most of the abdomen and displaced the spleen. This involved most of the intestine and pancreas.
DX
Mesenchymal tumor or sarcoma.
Outcome
After receiving the results of the FNA, the owner elected euthanasia.
Clinical Differential Diagnosis
Mass – neoplasia, cyst, granuloma of spleen/kidney/mesentery/lymph node/abdominal wall.
Sampling
Ultrasound guided FNA of the intestinal mass revealed either a mesenchymal tumor or sarcoma.
