A 17-year-old spayed female Beagle dog was presented for evaluation of hematuria that initially had responded to Baytril therapy. Survey radiographs showed bladder calculi and mineralization within the bladder. Abnormalities on urinalysis included isosthenuria (1.020) and 3+ proteinuria.
Aggressively mineralizing bladder mass occupying most of the dorsal wall. Transitional cell carcinoma is likely.
The urinary bladder contained an aggressively mineralizing mass that occupied most of the bladder. The bladder was empty. The urethra and cystourethral junction appeared relatively free of evident pathology. However, the mass appeared to occupy most of the dorsal wall. The ureters were not obstructed at this point.
