Recommend CT with surgical referral would be ideal. However, these types of masses are typically infiltrative around the greater vasculature in the heart base and cause progressive clinical issues.
Cardiac presentation in this patient presented normal cardiac volumes. However, a hypoechoic mass with focal, hyperechoic changes was noted. This mass measured 5.25 x 4.6 cm at the heartbase. Left atrial size was normal at 3.0 cm. Primary differentials include aortic body tumor, fibrosarcoma, or other connective tissue tumor. Hemangiosarcoma is much less likely given the position and echogenicity. Masses in this position are typically slowly expansive.
