An 11-year-old SF Bernese Mountain Dog was presented for evaluation of stranguria and hematuria.
This is strongly consistent with urethral transitional cell carcinoma. The lesion appears to be localized to the urethra. There was no evidence of spread to the bladder.
The urinary bladder was unremarkable. However, the pelvic urethra revealed a mineralizing infiltrative pattern that extended approximately 4.0 cm past the cystourethral junction.
