Bladder sand and calculi with interstitial cystitis pattern. There is a potential for bladder lymphoma. Bladder wall biopsy is important in this case as well as sand analysis and possible PU surgery. Guarded to good prognosis. Identification of the inflammatory cell type in the bladder wall is essential in this case for long term management.
The urinary bladder revealed concentric wall thickening with sand accumulation measuring approximately 1.0 cm. Attached mucous and debris was noted. The bladder wall at mild repletion measured 0.48 cm. This is most consistent with interstitial cystitis with a mild potential for bladder lymphoma. Biopsy at the time of surgery is strongly recommended.
