A 13 year-old NM Toy poodle was presented for evaluation of vomiting, lethargy, and anorexia for a few days. On physical examination, cranial abdominal discomfort was present.

Pancreatic abscess, potential concurrent neoplasia.
Hepatic vein dilation, consistent with passive congestion.
Assessment for right heart disease is recommended. This will play a significant role in eventual fluid therapy in this patient. Aggressive treatment for pancreatitis recommended. Guarded prognosis.
The left cranial abdomen revealed a mixed echogenic abscess that occupied the left pancreatic limb. Abscessing portion of pancreas was noted with concurrent tissue thickening. The right limb of the pancreas was hypoechoic and enlarged. Pericapsular inflammatory pattern was noted and measured 1.5 cm. Regional and fatty inflammation was noted.
