Breed specific tables echocardiography

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone knows if there are Labrador retriever specific values/tables for echocardiography. m-mode, etc….

June Boon’s book has tables for many breeds (includeing Golden Retrievers), but not for Labs.

If there are not values for Labs, would you use the “general” tables and go by weight? That’s what I’ve been doing.

Thanks, Karen

Hi Karen!

Hi Karen!
As far as I know – no…
THere’s an old study by Morrison et al (1992) regarding normal values in Golden Retrievers but the regression analysis showed an influence of body weight.
For Labradors I usually use the reference values by Cornell CC et al. JVIM 2004;18:311-321. They are not focused on specific breeds. If you look into the literature (case reports about Labradors) they use them as well.
The table in this study is extremely useful!
