Anomalous vessel – German shepherd

  • German shepherd, 6 years old, female, castrated
  • Routine check-up only, monitoring small kidney stones
  • This blood vessel was seen 1 month ago and is growing
  • Can it be a constituent of the portal system?
  • The vena cava appeared larger than the aorta, and the portal vein smaller
  • Any other differential besides shunt?
  • In this specific exam I could not follow the path of this vessel
