Abnormal liver

Sonopath Forum

This 11ish year old sf persian cat was presented for lethargy and anorexia last week. She had a history of chronic ibd. Cbc had possible bands, otherwise wnl and elevated bun low creat and elevated sdma. Liver vales wnl. An ultrasound was performed, a urine collected. The cat had bilateral cystic kidneys, and an abnormal left liver lobe. The cat was painful and yowling so I decided to get her started with treatment, run an fpli and resume the ultrasound later. The fpli was positive. I started her on fluids, antiniotics, pain meds, but I didnt get around to continuing the ultrasound as the cat deteriorated  and died within 12 hours.  I am wondering if what I was seeing in the liver was most likely polycystic, or if biliary neoplasm or some other etiology is more likely. Unfortunately didn’t get back to see pancreas.

Looks like a cystadenoma, old cat benign expansive tumor, or possibly hepatic cyst manifestation less likely. Not likely a clinical player.
