Prostatitis vs. urethral mass

6 year old MI Goldendoodle owner noticed about 15 drops of blood in the kitchen coming from patient’s penis. He had not been straining to urinate. pcDVM started patient on Enrofloxacin 5 days ago and patient has not had any recurrence. Owner had declined a UA. I’m concerned about prostatitis, but also could not tell if I’m seeing normal prostatic overlap into urethra or if I should be concerned about a urethral mass. Our current plan is to finish enro, neuter and follow up if any recurrence (Braf test, recheck ultrasound). Thoughts?

Looks like overlap. The appearance of the prostate is more likely age-related benign cystic prostatic hyperplasia than prostatitis. Perfect plan that you have for this patient.
