This 9 year old MN Manx cat has a history of mild hypercalcemia and recent onset of pancreatitis, responded well to treatment. Presented for possible right caudal lung lobe mass noted on rads.

CT of the thorax and abdomen –
thorax: A large solitary irregular shaped & gas-fillled cavitated enhancing mass of 2 cm diameter is centered around the main lobar bronchus of the right caudal lung lobe.
abdomen: The computed tomography of the abdomen is within normal limits. The left lobe of the pancreas is prominent and reveals mild differential enhancement of the parenchyma in the early post contrast series, but is regular for size, shape and presents uniform enhancement on the delayed post contrast series.
Possible differentials such as abscess or granuloma are by far less likely. This needs to be considered neoplastic until proven otherwise. However, as the lesion is solitary and the computed tomography is negative for intrathoracic and intraabdominal metastatic spread right caudal lung lobectomy is considered the best therapeutic option and may be curative here.
