Ovarian Remnant

Sonopath Forum

– 7 year old FS Australian Cattle dog (same as last liver post but different problem)

– being worked up for elevated liver enzymes – was spayed several years ago

– owner in passing mentions that pet has been having what looks like heat cycles every 6 months for quite a while but has not seen in the last year

– prominent uterine stump seen on ultrasound

– there appears to be an “ovary” caudal to the right kidney (there is also a small cyst in the renal cortex)

Is this evidence for an  ovarian remnant?

Nice u-stump surely too thick
Nice u-stump surely too thick for not getting solicited by estrogen.

That looks like o remnant as well in the video right where it should be. I would remove the remnant and take the u-stump down to the cervix to avoid an eventual stump pyo.

Ive attached a similar o remnant that was sx removed.
