different echogenicity in between liver lobes

Hello,

I ve seen this a few times and I’m not sure how to interpret or if it is significant . Is this called anisotropy? and just an artefact  from angle of imaging? or can suggest something ?

This is a 6 years old chihuahua with high ALT ( 10 times normal )

Thank you

Its possible that its angular artifact but your near field is clear before the area so likely a real tissue variation on this one.  I would power doppler these lesions to see if vascularized, image them from different angles ensuring no interfering near field artifact (not present here) and possibly sample if parenchymal detail is lost (not present here either). I usually call these normal age related variants if persistent on different angles and normal vascularity and parenchymal detail. If LEs are elevated then sometimes suppurative changes can do this as well hence the needle needed.
