Huge Abdominal Mass

Sonopath Forum

Huge Abdominal Mass

  • 12 year old MN Spaniel
  • Weight loss, off form, decreased appetite and very recent pu/pd
  • Round heterogenous mass taking up most of abdomen
  • Could identify some normal liver and stomach cranial to mass
  • Could identify left and right kidneys, right adrenal and spleen and bladder
  • Also enlarged lymph nodes, I think I am seeing mesenteric lymph nodes cranial to left kidney rather than adrenal gland
  • Can you see the left adrenal?
  • I am very curious to what this mass might be? Can adrenal tumours be this large?

Not sure where that mass is

Not sure where that mass is coming from but I were to guess i would say liver. CT helpful here . Mes LN are enlarged but longer than wide so may not be neoplastic. Not thinking adrenal tumor given the architecture but they can get very big.

Thanks Eric.

If liver enzyme activity

If liver enzyme activity normal then could be an abdominal sarcoma. FNA cytology may help in getting closer to a diagnosis.
