Diaphragmatic Hernia???

Sonopath Forum

Lulu is an older dog that I ultrasounded as part of a work up for surgery to remove a lip mass. The radiographs grabbed my attention. So I scanned the left thoracic caudal area after looking at the heart (had a 3/6 murmur) I think I’m seeing a chunk of liver in the thorax and possibly the defect itself?? But I wouldn’t mind some more experienced eyes double checking me.

Lung neoplasia can look like

Lung neoplasia can look like liver… hepatization of the lung. I would fna left IC 8-9 or so if you have a probe window then a needle can follow. If hernia then liver tissue comes back but if lung pathology then expect carcinoma or sarcoma or maybe lung necrosis. CT is best here for sx planning or do a cranial abdominal scan position 11 SDEP and probe tail down and increase the depth to about 12-14 cm. Your videos are too dark unfortunately to see whats going on there.
