I have had a few met check ultrasounds in recent weeks and while I know I am looking for general signs of “badness”; masses, nodules, enlarged lymph nodes, but if a patient has been diagnosed with a certain type of cancer such as mast cell or TCC are there any areas that should be more focused on during this type of scan? Or areas that should be images with the 12 L? Not going outside of the SDEP protocol of course. 🙂

Very dependent of the tumor.
Very dependent of the tumor. TCC can go into the liver and regional lymph node but also into bone – thus in an ideal world whole body CT would be indicated. Mast cell tumor – latest thinking is that if the regional lymph nodes are negative for mast cells then there is no need to for furtrher screening.
Look for rounded LN that
Look for rounded LN that drain the primary organ and of course spleen and liver for MCT looking for subtle nodules honeycomb pattern that the 12L will help identiofy better than the microconvex.
