-Older adult neutered male terrier mix, just adopted, no known history

-CC: Dripping urine

-I see a heterogeneous prostate and floating echogenic debris in the bladder along with apical wall thickening.

-What are the likely ddx with this appearance?

Thanks!

The prostate is adequately

The prostate is adequately regressed and the capsule is uniform. The heterogenous changes I often see in males neutered later in life. Im doubting carcinoma here because of th ebenign appearance but embedded infetcion possible… incontinence and uti would be my first approach and if in a couple of weeks of therapy I would rescan if th eprostate is growing or the urethra is starting to have a proliferative change to it then carcinoma would be a concern.

Check out the myriad of prostatic carcinomas and other pathology in this region we have in the archive to compare what they usually look like.
