this is a m/n 8 yr old dsh cat. presented two weeks ago for not eating. the video here is about the same as original findings. fna was done came back pyogranulomatous steatits,obviously I think more to the story. straining to defecate. not responding to conservative care so far. Would love some input before we move to invasive diagnostics. thanks

Hi Sheri – I’m not 100% sure but this looks like ICJ lymphadenopathy with surrounding reactive fat. If so, I would be concerned about lymphoma in this location. Will see what others have to say?
There is distortion of this
There is distortion of this LN cluster. If fna gave you pyogranulomatous then think resistent bacteria or dry fip as potentials. If a significant lymphoid population then you can run a pcr on the slide at CSU or core bx the ln looking for lsa. If you fna again use a syringe with a touch of saline as well and draw back oin the fna for culture. Sometimes you get MRSA and such on these. diffs on this, lymphadenitis with complicating factors (resistent bacteria and such), lsa, mct, fip.
