What causes this artifact?

Sonopath Forum

What causes this artifact?

  • This is a 12 year old mn English Springer.
  • Abdominal ultrasound shows a hypoechoic band extending across the ventral spleen in the near field.
  • The video clip shows that this band starts cranial to and outside the spleen.
  • I am calling this an artifact as it is not present in my transverse views of the spleen.
  • Am I correct in calling this an artifact and what causes this?
