    • Abdominal ultrasound performed yesterday was wnl except for the stomach was midly distended with ingest and chyme.  Rule outs included lack of patient fasting, decreased gastric motility, and outflow obstruction (none seen).
    • Rescanned the patient today after a > 12 hour fast.  The pylorus and pyloric outflow appear normal, however, there appears to be strong shadowing in the gastric lumen but there is no highy echogenic interface.   I also scanned this patient standing (ST) and this was repeatable finding.
    • My rule outs include gastric FB, gastric wall abnormality, gastric fold/intussuception, and atypical gas pattern.
    • What are your thoughts?
