Ventricular Arrhythmia

  • 13 year old arthritic FN Retriever with an arrhythmia and murmur, history of intermittent diarrhoea, bloods normal
  • Normal abdominal ultrasound
  • Echo showed mitral and pulmonic regurg but no remodelling
  • Persistent VPC and runs of up to 5 VPCs (V tach), rate seemed around 100-120 on average
  • Do not think owner will go for holter monitor
  • Are these arrhythmias always secondary to systemic disease or DCM?
  • What do you do if bloods/urine, abdo scan all normal and no significant cardiac disease?
