Small Liver nodule / IBD

Sonopath Forum

This is a 13 year old Maltese F/S that has episodes of pain.  Small liver on X-ray as well as US.

I have few questions:

1.There are 2 small nodules that had a cyst appearance 12 month ago . Do I need to FNA now that looks more like a nodule? or just monitoring because of the size ( and the fact that dog is not clinical, normal liver enzymes despite mildly low Albumin 28)

2.I know it’s subjective but can  measurement : the liver capsule to dyaphragm say anything. I saw people talking about less then 2 cm -small…?

3. Does this SI images suggest IBD/Lymphangiectasia?

Thank you,

1) nodules thta don’t

1) nodules thta don’t destroy architecture, deviate adjacent structures and do not grow are usually not an issue but fna to be sure if a new finding. Cysts unless echogenic or expansive I leave alone.

2) diaphragm is not deviated so watch for any deviation which is a mini mass effect

3) mucosal striations suggest lymphangectasia but mucosal speckling like this is idiopathic.. maybe related to ibd noone knows that I have heard.

Nice post
