Prostatic disease

Sonopath Forum

  • 10 year old male neutered YST with pyrexia and upset stomach
  • Pancreatitis seen on scan
  • But also a very enlarged prostate with a hypoechoic mass lesion, pinpoint mineralisation and surrounding reactivity. The sublumbar lymph nodes were very mildly enlarged. I advised sampling but vet is first going to manage pancreatitis.
  • I could not see any testicular tissue to account for enlarged prostate/prostatitis.

    • I would not have expected such an diffusely enlarged and symmetrical prostate in a neutered dog, even if developed neoplasia. What do you think is going on here?
