hematuria young male dog

This is a 3 yr old mn Schnauzer mix that has had microscopic hematuria for a month.  His culture was negative. They wanted him scanned for stones and evidence of a shunt.  He had no stones and no evidnece of a shunt but a pronounced medullary rim sign.  I was thinking his hematuria might be renal in orgin.

Medullary rim is idiopathic

Medullary rim is idiopathic so not sure if this has anything to do with the hematuria. You can also run a coag as I have on occasion run into cogulopathies that manifest with hematuria. Any inflammatory sediment associated? sampling artifact?

No sediment, there was a very tiny  stone present that I did not think was significant present in the left kidney.
