Which cavity to approach
Which cavity to approach first. I know when scanning the abdomen you save the owie parts (cranial abd) until the end of the scan so as not to bug the patient too much, so if I need to scan both cavities is it better to start with the heart or abd first? Thx!

Oh I understand..yes heart
Oh I understand..yes heart first for a number of reasons but also so you can be sure th eheart is healthy and no major cardiac crisis going on for when you are scanning the abdomen. It also gives you an idea how excited the patient is if elevated heart rate and how th eheart is functioning in case you want to sedate. Personally I am faster in the heart than in the abdomen so I also like to get it out of th eway first befiore I delve into th edeep parts of th eabdomen but thats a personal preference.
