This 5 year old MN dog has been drooling/nauseous for 2 days, excessive panting.

Image Interpretation

Normal thorax. The gastrointestinal tract presents a mild gas filling, partially there is granular material noted within the gastrointestinal tract. The small intestinal loops are not distended and of even diameter.

DX

• Except for gastroesophageal reflux structurally normal chest and abdomen without evidence of a mechanical or functional gastrointestinal ileus

Outcome

No abnormalities were detected in this radiographic study.

Empirical treatment with anti-emetic drugs and gastro-intestinal diet are recommended. If the patient is refractory to treatment full blood-work and complete abdominal ultrasound should be considered.
