DX

Mild gastric distension with fluid and gas. • Soft tissue mass in the region of the thoracic aperture/forearms • Incidental age related lung changes

Image Interpretation

The stomach is moderately distended with gas and fluid.  A mild generalized bronchial lung pattern with thin tram lines, mild cylindrical and bronchiectasis normal lung volume is noted emphasizing the caudal lung field and considered a normal incidental age related finding.  There are multiple age related incidental pulmonary osteomas.  An ovoid homogenous soft tissue mass of 4,9 x 8,3 cm superimposes onto the proximal aspect of the forearm.

Outcome

There is no evidence of relevant underlying pulmonary disease.
The stomach is mildly distended with fluid and gas. Functional and mechanical
outflow obstruction needs to be considered as well as intraluminal haemorrhage.
However, the radiographs do not reveal any evidence of mechanical outflow
obstruction.
Screening for coagulopathy is advised as well as an abdominal ultrasound to further
evaluate the gastrointestinal tract.
