This 15 year old MN Beagle dog has a history of coughing that improveswith a steroid injection then worsens again.

DX

• Mild bronchial pattern – especially in combination with the clinical findings a chronic allergic airway disease is most likely. Infectious bronchitis, such as bacterial, viral, or parasitic is considered unlikely

Image Interpretation

Rads of the thorax – The patient is obese. There is a large subcutaneous soft tissue mass of 11 cm diameter at the caudodorsal and right chest wall. The undelying ribs are within normal limits. There is no extrapleural sign and no evidence of intraabdominal extension. The heart is within normal limits for size and shape, the pulmonary vasculature is not congested. The lung reveals an occasional bronchial pattern with increased visibility of the bronchial walls, there is no extensive bronchial wall thickening noted.
