This 6 year old MN Labrador mix dog resented with intermittent vomiting (bile) and inappetance for 5 days. Listless, depressed, polydipsia per owner. Sneezing for 3 days.

Physical exam: obese, heavy tartar, stiffness/trouble getting up.

Image Interpretation

Rads of the thorax and abdomen – The patient is obese. The abdominal wall is pendulous. The splenic tail reveals border effacement with the caudal liver margin.  Multiple incidental age related pulmonary osteomas and occasional bronchial ring shadows are seen.

DX

Moderate generalized hepatomegaly with mildly pot belied abdomen

Outcome

The radiographic findings support the suspicion of a diffuse infiltrative hepatopathy, such as vacuolar, diffuse inflammatory or neoplastic hepatopathy. Also consider systemic sydromes such as Diabetes or Cushing’s and other.
