Left limb pancreatitis

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Left limb pancreatitis

Image Interpretation

Diffuse hyperechoic changes were present in the area of the pancreas. The pancreatic structure could not be adequately ascertained due to this “snowstorm” effect. No overt masses were noted. These changes are consistent with chronic active inflammation, fibrosis, or saponification of fat.

Outcome

A month later the blood work seemed to normalize.
