DX

Pancreatic duct calculus and possible IBD

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Pancreatic duct calculus, regional inflammation. Gastrointestinal pattern is suggestive of inflammatory bowel disease, potential emerging intestinal lymphoma, mast cell disease, or dry-form FIP.

Image Interpretation

A solitary calculus is present in the pancreatic duct of the left limb. A minor hyperechoic periductile inflammatory pattern is also present suggestive for secondary inflammation associated with the calculus. The surrounding small intestine is diffusely thickened with hypertrophied muscularis.

Outcome

A referral hospital further evaluated the patient, and the owner elected medical treatment for pancreatitis and inflammatory bowel disease. The patient was then lost to follow-up

Clinical Differential Diagnosis

Pancreatitis, neoplasia, maldigestion, inflammatory bowel disease.
