Ultrasound of the left stifle –
Minor swelling of the synovial membrnes and minor effusion is noted within the supra- and infrapatellar recess respectively. The cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) fibres are continuous and well delineated with mildly non-uniform echogenicity. The medial meniscus is ultrasonographically within normal limits.
The findings are further compatible with emerging edema of the CCL. Biomechanical failure is very unlikely at this point.
A meniscal pathology is not identified.
