DX

Myxomatous Mitral Valve Disease – Stage B1, moderate MR, normal LA size

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Myxomatous Mitral Valve Disease – Stage B1, moderate MR, normal LA size

Image Interpretation

The left ventricle measures low normal in size. There is adequate, systolic function. The mitral valve is mildly to moderately thickened with mild prolapse. The left atrium is normal in size (La:Ao 1.30). The right heart is normal in size. Color and spectral Doppler identifies moderate eccentric MR (peak velocity 5.97m/s) and mild TR. The pulmonary and aortic valves are normal in appearance. There is normal, laminar forward flow (LVOT 1.14m/s, RVOT 0.99m/s). The main pulmonary artery is normal in appearance. No effusions or masses visualized. There is a sinus rhythm with average HR 160bpm.

Clinical Differential Diagnosis

Valvular endocardiosis, vegetative endocarditis
