Image Interpretation

Pelvic urethra was invaded by a 1.57 to 1.16 cm mass extending to the cystourethral junction caudally to at least 3 cm. The urethral mass projected cranially in a cauliflower type fashion into the cystourethral junction. Focal areas of mineralization were noted particularly in the urethral tumor in short axis. The trigone was free of evident pathology. No obstructive disease was noted regarding the ureters at this point; however, the mass extends cranially in the vicinity of the ureteral papillae and should be monitored for progression. The remainder of the bladder was unremarkable. Color Flow Doppler revealed moderate vascularity to the urethral mass

DX

Mineralizing urethral mass

Outcome

Referral for ultrasound guided laser ablation would be ideal in this case plus or minus urethral stent placement. No overt evidence of metastatic disease was noted. No obstructive disease was noted regarding the ureters at this point; however, the mass extends cranially in the vicinity of the ureteral papillae and should be monitored for progression.
