A 7-year-old MN Yorkie dog was presented with 3llb weight loss, diarrhea, and lethargy, with no response to metronidazole. Abnormalities on CBC and serum biochemistry were; CBC: wbc 44.67, neu 23.93, lym 10.48, mono 9.99 Chem: CA 6.9, TP 4.4, Alb 1.6, Alt 213, Alk 661.

Intestinal lymphoma pattern with regional lymphadenopathy and concurrent protein losing enteropathy

Image Interpretation

An intestinal mass was noted in this patient and measured approximately x at least 5.0 cm. Free fluid and echogenic omentum was noted as well as regional lymphadenopathy. This is consistent with peritonitis. The liver was enlarged. The spleen was mildly enlarged with scalloping contour and was slightly irregular. There is a strong potential for concurrent and round cell neoplasia involvement such as lymphoma.

Outcome

Probable splenic and possible hepatic involvement. Prognosis is poor.

Sampling

FNA of the lymph nodes and spleen would be indicated.
