Heart based mass that is superimposing the left atrium and enveloping the aorta extending to the right auricle. Obstructive pattern to the pulmonary outflow. Secondary passive congestion owing to right outflow obstruction and likely emerging pulmonary hypertension.

DX

Heart based mass that is superimposing the left atrium and enveloping the aorta extending to the right auricle

Outcome

Cardiology/oncology referral is recommended in this patient; however, this is not surgical. The
probabilities are aortic body tumor/chemodectoma. Connective tissue tumor would be the next
possibility. There is a low possibility of hemangiosarcoma given the echotexture. There was no evidence of pericardial effusion at this time.
