Linear intestinal foreign body with emerging perforation and localized peritonitis.

Image Interpretation

Immediate exploratory surgery is recommended with concurrent gastrointestinal biopsies to rule out underlying disease. Multiple enterotomies and possible intestinal resection may be necessary as well as gastrotomy.

Clinical Differential Diagnosis

GIT pathology (foreign body, ulceration, neoplasia, IBD, dietary hypersensitivity, bacterial/fungal infection);
Pancreatic pathology ( pancreatitis, neoplasia, abscess);
Peritonitis ( bacterial, urine, bile)
